This workshop is designed to introduce key emotional self soothing and resourcing strategies typically explored in Phase 2 of EMDR. These are effective wellbeing and grounding techniques that can be used regardless of therapeutic approach.
Psychoeducation on states of activation​
Understanding what our body is doing and why is incredibly helpful. We will talk about our nervous system responses and explore which states we individually lean towards.
Building two personalised resource techniques
Building your existing strengths and sense of self is really important. We all have these experiences however long forgotten. Part of therapy is building and developing all the good things. This is as important as working through the challenges we have experienced.
Practical regulation reminder
Having simple tools to remind us to check in and regulate can be helpful first steps.
Development of four soothing strategies
We will walk through four different visual imagery based exercises. You will use your workbook to develop each one for yourself.
wellbeing booklet
I want you to have something concrete and practical to take away. When we are under stress we initially need something solid to hold on to whilst we practise integrating self soothing and wellbeing internally. You will develop your own personalised strategies in your workbook.
Time and cost
The workshop runs for 2 hours and costs £175. You will take away your workbook and practical tool.
